Being pregnant, I'd resigned myself to sitting on the sidelines of my own celebration. But not here. Every single detail had been thought through with me in mind. This place holds something very special for us, and not just as a business.
We have five children of our own, and our daughter Annabelle was born right here at Tranquil Waters in a home birth that we will carry in our hearts forever. This land has held some of the most profound moments of our lives. We know firsthand what it means to bring new life into the world, the anticipation, the vulnerability, the absolute magnitude of it. That's partly why creating a space to honour that felt so natural to us.
When we built Tranquil Waters we wanted somewhere that genuinely nourishes the people who come here. Not a polished venue that looks beautiful in photos but feels cold when you're in it. Somewhere warm, held, and real.
We've noticed a shift in how people want to celebrate pregnancy. The old version, a few hours in a restaurant, a pile of gifts, rushing off home, doesn't feel like enough anymore. Mums-to-be want something more meaningful. Intimate time with the people they love most. Proper rest. Treatments that are actually safe and enjoyable during pregnancy. Memories that last longer than a single afternoon.
