Just striving for the future...is an illness!

I'll be happy when I leave school

I'll be happy when I finish college

I'll be happy when I get a job

I'll be happy when I get a house and mortgage

I'll be happy when I pay off that mortgage

I'll be happy when I get a bigger house with a new mortgage

I'll be happy when I get married

I'll be happy when I get kids

I'll be happy when they get old enough to stop making a mess

I'll be happy when I get a divorce and meet a new husband

I'll be happy when I get a new car..

I'll be happy when I retire

The list goes on and on until you die.

Who can relate to this? Is this your mindset?

Constantly saying "I'll be happy when" and when that "when" comes you feel joy for a short moment and move onto something else.

You will always move those goal posts, it's great to have goals but it's more important to live in the now and show gratitude for all that you are and the life you have.

Stop saying to yourself I'll be happy when. Tell yourself and your subconscious mind you are happy now. Practice Gratitude.

Before you know it your life has slipped by and all those precious moments you should have enjoyed are gone because you weren't present.
